What If My Ring Size Is Wrong? Our Ring Re-Sizing Service Explained

Ordering a ring online is exciting, whether it is a commitment ring, a meaningful gift, or a piece chosen for yourself. But if your ring feels too tight or slightly too loose when it arrives, it can be disappointing.

Ordering the wrong ring size is one of the most common challenges with online jewellery purchases, and in most cases it can be corrected safely through professional ring re-sizing. Our professional resizing service across South Africa is designed to make the process straightforward, transparent, and secure.

Even with careful measuring, finger sizes can fluctuate or sizing guides can be misinterpreted. If your ring size isn’t quite right, we are here to help you adjust it so that it feels comfortable, secure, and perfectly fitted.

How Should My Ring Fit?

People have different preferences for the fit of their rings. Some prefer them slightly loose; others like a snug fit.

A correctly sized ring should slide over the knuckle with slight resistance and sit securely at the base of the finger without pinching or spinning.

What Does Ring Re-sizing Cost?

Resizing costs vary depending on whether the ring is being enlarged or made smaller as well as how any stones or engraving will be affected. In some cases the jeweller might decide that it is better to remake the ring to maintain the quality of the piece.

Once you approve the quote and payment is received, resizing will begin.

Courier services are provided by an independent third party, and shipping costs are quoted separately based on your location.

Can All Rings Be Re-sized?

It is possible to re-size most rings although some designs are more complex than others. Plain bands are the simplest to change whereas designs incorporating stones or engraving can be more challenging. Our jewellers are on hand to advise you. They will explain how re-sizing might impact the design and will confirm your preferences.

Signet rings are the one exception. They cannot be re-sized and must be remade to preserve the design integrity.
