Dear Silvery Family,
We are so happy to share that we’ve made incredible progress in setting up our new workshop — and we’re getting closer every day to being fully up and running again! Your patience and support have truly meant the world to us, and we want to keep you updated every step of the way. The setup process has been detailed and demanding, but things are moving beautifully:
- Water lines were successfully installed yesterday, ensuring everything is in place for our polishers, ultrasonic cleaners, and other essential equipment.
- Today, our electricians are on site working to establish a secure and consistent power supply for all our heavy machinery.
- Fireproofing, ventilation systems, and air conditioning are currently being fitted to ensure a safe and functional workspace.
- Drywalling of our Laser machine and 3D Printer rooms will still take some time to be finalised. But we’ve found a creative solution — we’re installing a UV-resistant gazebo for our 3D printers so we can begin running them in the meantime!
- We’re thrilled to share that our laser machines are already operational, and that’s a huge step forward.
- On Thursday, our gas lines will be installed. This is a vital step, as jewellers use gas torches for soldering and fusing metals — a key part of crafting every single piece. Once this is in place, we’ll be able to resume 95% of our manufacturing capacity.
To move things along even faster, our incredible team has committed to working this Saturday to begin tackling the backlog of approximately 500 orders. We are doing everything we can to catch up while maintaining the quality and care you expect from us.
At this stage, we’ll be working through the backlog in chronological order:
- Starting with all orders placed before the fire (up to 2nd May), which we aim to have completed by Wednesday, 21st May.
- We’ll then move on to orders placed after the fire (from 3rd May), with the goal of having those completed and dispatched by Tuesday, 27th May.
- After that, we’ll officially be up to date, and will resume our standard manufacturing timeframe.
We remain genuinely overwhelmed by how many of you have chosen to wait and continue supporting us through this incredibly challenging time. Your kindness, patience, and encouragement keep us going — truly, thank you from all of us at Silvery.
We’ll be sending out more updates as we go, and in the meantime, feel free to follow the behind-the-scenes journey on Instagram or Facebook.
With heartfelt thanks,
The Silvery Team
Dear Customers
We are filled with gratitude as we share the latest steps in rebuilding Silvery Jewellery. Today, we began the challenging task of cleaning our workshop’s equipment and fixtures. It has been an emotional day, reflecting on the six years it took to create an efficient and inspiring workspace, only to see it devastated. The road ahead to restore it in just a few days feels daunting, but your unwavering support and encouragement fuel our determination to not only rebuild but to create an even more beautiful and functional workshop.
We are also thrilled to announce that we have secured our new premises and will take occupancy this Friday, 9th May. Starting Monday, 12th May, we will begin relocating our equipment and setting up the new workshop. Our dedicated team is working tirelessly to ensure we are fully operational by Friday, 16th May, ready to resume crafting the jewellery you love.
Thank you for standing by us during this challenging time. We are excited to embark on this new chapter and can’t wait to share our creations from our revitalized space.
– Silvery’s New Home –
Dear Customers,
We are thrilled to share a significant milestone in our journey to rebuild Silvery Jewellery. We have secured a new, spacious property that will serve as the new home for our operations. This larger facility provides an enhanced workspace for our dedicated team and, most excitingly, includes a showroom for our Durban customers to explore our creations in person.
We are set to take occupancy on Monday, 12th May. While we are eager to resume crafting and fulfilling your orders, the coming week will be dedicated to setting up our new workshop. Recreating what took us six years to build in just a few days is a challenge, but with the support of our committed team, we are on track to be fully operational by Friday, 19th May. From that date, we will resume creating and completing your orders, with a goal to clear all pending orders by Wednesday, 21st May.
Thank you for your patience and continued support. We can’t wait to bring you the quality and craftsmanship you love from Silvery Jewellery in our new space.
